Thanks, John. The Emerald Tablet is a vexing topic. For a while, the earliest text we possessed was a Latin translation from the early middle-ages. Then an older Arabic text was found, dated to very late antiquity. The assumption today is that the ur-text has been lost. But the vintage and legitimacy of the Emerald Tablet as a piece of Hermetic literature is being more widely accepted today. I would tread carefully with any writer who claims “special” knowledge based on unknown or privileged sources. One outstanding occult and scholarly source on the Emerald Tablet is the book Meditations on the Tarot. It has the finest analysis I know — including historically — of the Emerald Tablet in its first chapter. Best in your search, Mitch
