I like this article and and I like its values, but it omits one vital fact. As a veteran, this man had guaranteed healthcare. Otherwise premium, out-of-pocket costs, chronic illness, or a single health emergency would’ve decimated the savings that he wisely invested. I know cat sitter in New York City who’s also a millionaire. Same story.
