E-prime prompts qualification, which can be useful, but I ultimately find such principles a device. They can become an orthodoxy. Plainness of intent coupled with sincerity of search are, I believe, a richer means of exchange. In a similar effort, a branch of the Theosophy movement once sought to eliminate the use of “I.” The results were confounding.
